Chocolate Soufflé

recipes chocolate souffle A chocolate soufflé recipe from ... Australia?
In the end I abandoned the french cookbooks... and went Australian. The wonderful Margaret Fulton has a souffl recipe that works, everytime. It isn't as heavy as the other recipe's and I will only have to run 3 times my usual distance tomorrow to work it off.

Chocolate Brownies

recipes brownies Was there a time when we didn't have brownies in the chocolate dessert category?

During the Columbian Exposition in 1892, the chef of the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago invented the brownie. Bertha Palmer wanted a dessert that women could eat without getting their hands dirty when put into box lunches. Sears and Roebuck published the first chocolate brownie recipe in their 1898 catalogue.

Chocolate Cashew Bread

recipe chocolate bread If you need something with bread and chocolate.
Anyway, this recipe comes from my stack of holiday magazines. This particular magazine, Better Homes and Gardens Christmas Baking, also brought us Cinnamon Swirl Bread this holiday season. I really liked this bread. Cashews are one of my favorites, although I don’t bake with them much. I did find that the bread was best served warm. It tended to seem a bit dry otherwise.

Craving Meyer Lemons

recipe meyer lemon Click through for lots more pics on making a Meyer Lemon tart for dessert.

I am lucky. I managed to buy Meyer lemons right before the price was going to hit the ceiling! In fact I think that it already happened in view of what I witnessed last Friday at the grocery store. Combien ? (How much?) “Did I read the price tag right?”, I thought when I walked by the basket full of delicious looking Meyer lemons. Of course, with the weather going bananas and killing the Californian lemon crops, I should not be surprised at all.

Basket Weaving Cake

recipe cake recipe decoration Click through for more cake decoration pictures and recipes from this blogger.
This is the last cake from cake decorating class and we were learning basket weaving. The basket weaving is a easy and simple technique but time consuming. We were supposed to learn to tip other types of flowers before this session so we could fill in the “basket” with different flowers but schedule changed. Therefore it’s roses and sweet pea flowers again on the top.
